Daily Word for Lenten Season - February 22

The intimate word for Father or many people translate this as “Daddy.” It is difficult to think of God as our “Daddy” at times, for various reasons, but as we pause this Lenten time perhaps we can think of the one who gives us the hug when most needed. Or perhaps he is the one who smiles proudly at an accomplishment of ours. What is your “Daddy” doing to love you?

Prayer: Thank you “Daddy” for being there for me. Help me to receive your love. Amen.

Daily Word for Lenten Season - February 20

Words can bring life or words can bring harm. Words can describe the beauty in this world or words can complain about all that is wrong. Words bring wonder and joy, but words can also bring despair and sadness. Let us use words which bring grace and peace, those are the most powerful words of all.

Prayer: Lord, help us to use our words to speak your words to others this day. Amen.

Daily Word for Lenten Season - February 19

Why don’t we ask? Is it because we are afraid of the answer “No!” Or is it because we are afraid of the answer “Yes!” Or maybe we are afraid we will receive no answer at all to our question. I think God made us to take initiative, just as He is the creator, the Great Initiator, of which we are the image. Why not ask, at least it will be the beginning, n’est-ce pas?

Prayer: Lord, help us to have the courage to ask. This we ask in the name of your Son, Jesus. Amen.
