Bible Study and Discussion Groups
Adult Education ~ Join the Family!
“God’s Messy Family” by Jacob Armstrong
Beginning Sunday, October 14 after Worship
Pastor Randy will lead a 6-week study of the book, “God’s Messy Family” by Jacob Armstrong. This book takes an in-depth look at our faith lineage,
focusing specifically on the family dynamics found in the book of Genesis. As we begin to understand the life stories of Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob and Esau, we find that their pattern looks a lot like ours - we are called, we mess up, and God continues to redeem us. I highly encourage you to
participate in this study to learn more about how we fit into “God’s Messy Family”.
If you are not able to attend the Adult Education class after Worship, you can participate in an
existing Bible Study Group (new members welcome), or form a group. Group leader training will be provided. If you are interested in attending the class or a group, or have any suggestions or
questions, please contact Terry Han or the Church office.
Books will be available through the office for $10. Please sign-up for this study after
Worships or inform the office if you are interested.

Friday Morning Women’s Bible Study:
LIFT (Ladies in Fellowship Together)
Resumes Friday, September 7, from 10 a.m. - Noon in the Library
All women of the church are invited to join us on Friday mornings for a 7-week study of Psalm 23 using study materials and DVDs by Jennifer Rothschild.
Here is what Jennifer says about the study:
Every woman longs for someone to protect and care for her - someone to guide her when she’s not sure of her next steps; someone to give her rest when she’s worn out; someone to walk with her when the valley gets dark. The Lord is our Shepherd, our good Shepherd. And His companionship gives us the comfort and confidence we all long for.
Sister, as we study Psalm 23 together, you will be reminded that the Shepherd is with you and you are safe with your Shepherd in every situation, in every season.
This is a brand new study, but Jennifer is not new to us. We used her study, “Me, Myself and Lies” a number of years ago. She is a very down-to-earth speaker who has been blind since the age of 15. The daily lessons for this study will not be as intense as our previous two studies and appear to be more application-oriented. Since Psalm 23 is so familiar to so many, focusing more on how it speaks to our individual lives and situations seems appropriate. I am hoping you will join us.
Our first meeting will be on Friday, September 7. We will meet in the church library from
10:00-12:00. We begin by sharing prayer concerns, then discuss the lesson and conclude with
viewing the DVD. I am hoping to be able to subsidize the cost of the books, which would make them $10. If not, they will be $16 each. If that is a hardship for anyone, we will find a way to provide you with a book. I don’t want cost to be a deciding factor for anyone.
I have ordered 12 books. If you plan to attend, please let me know so I can reserve a book for you.
