Weekly Update - Pentecost Sunday: Wear Red, Orange, Yellow or Bright Colors!

                      This Sunday, May 28...

Join us for Worship in the JKPC Sanctuary
at 9:30 a.m. or on Facebook Live!

Pastor Garrett's message is titled “Right Relationships Are a Blessing” and is based on Matthew 5:6

Pastor Garrett will show a Memorial Day Prayer Video.

There will not be Prayers of Joys and Concerns, but instead a general Pastoral Prayer. So please if you have a specific prayer request, write it down on a prayer card at the beginning of the service, and place it in the offering plate during Passing the Peace.

This Sunday, May 28, is Pentecost Sunday!
Show your Spirit by wearing Red, Orange or Yellow!

This is the Sunday we remember the birth of “The Church” through the Holy Spirit. There will also be festive red, orange and yellow balloons!

We will also have a PCUSA Special Offering on Pentecost Sunday. This offering “unites us in a church-wide effort to support young people and inspire them to share their faith, ideas, and unique gifts with the church and the world.” CLICK HERE for more information on this Pentecost Special Offering.

Prayers of Joy & Concern:

Prayers of comfort and peace for Mary Chervet and family in New Jersey as they say good bye to her father, who is in his last days;  for the family of Stan Husted’s sister, Norma, on the passing of Norma’s husband. Prayers for safe travels for Stan as he and his son travel to Kansas to attend the memorial service;  for Stacy Omo and family as they care for Stacy’s mother-in-law, Joyce, who is in hospice care;  continued prayers for  Bob Rickleffs as he heals at home from his knee infection and for daughter Cheryl;  continued prayers for healing and encouragement for Sharon Smith who has continuing pain following her back surgery;  prayers of peace and comfort for Laura Bolin’s older brother John who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Prayers as he begins chemotherapy and that he is given more time with his family;  for Pete Peterson’s sister, Pam, as she fights off a bad infection and for her husband who is going to have open heart surgery;  for Sue King-Irwin for a full recovery from a 2 week long virus;  for Tina Kritzer’s brother who is having foot surgery again, after already having several surgeries from shattering his ankle last year. Prayers that the surgery is successful so that he will not lose his foot;  prayers from Sherri Hedman. Her cousin's husband, Gary, is a former fighter who suffered both lymphoma, then 10 years later, leukemia. This cure years ago caused an open wound on his face that cannot heal; Praises that Jerry and Paula Miller is on vacation for a few weeks (thank you for Tina for taking over video); Prayers for the JKPC Mission Study Committee and for all at JKPC during this transitional time. Prayers for all to hunger for God's Word, to be open to serve, and to give generously.

Thought for the Week (that we learned today from John Knox Co-op Preschool Director Leslie James!)

     Congratulations to the Preschool Graduates!

Looking to the Future, Your JKPC Staff
