Community in Action

Good morning!! It is a beautiful day outside, a great day to go for a walk, or a swim. Yes, the San Ramon aquatic center is open, staring today, and I am so looking forward to getting some laps in.

Another great thing about today is that you too can have a zoom account. If you didn’t know you can start a zoom account which allows you to meet for 40 minutes for free. Yesterday after the short(!) Congregational meeting, where we nominated new officers, there was a short (?) chat time. After I about 15 minutes, or so, I excused myself and turned the hosting over to Nancy. The shortness of that chat time to me is still a mystery since I left, but when I did some people were still going strong.

People were so glad to see each other’s faces and catch up on some news. So now many of you have a new way to connect with each other. The zoom procedure is fairly easy and once you have an account you can sent up meetings for anytime, with a limit of forty minutes.

Connection has been a key word for us during these weeks, or months, of Shelter in Place and I think many of us have done a good job writing notes, making phone calls, or seeing each other from a distance on walks.

I would urge all of you to consider some type of face to face connection through the internet. You can always FaceTime, but you can also Google Meet, or you can Zoom. Let’s not let this Shelter in Place hinder us from keeping in touch.

Perhaps in the next couple of weeks we can set up some zoom chats to gather after the service or some time during the week. Let me know if you are interested and we will come up with a plan. Hoping to see you all soon.

    Blessings to each of you,

    Pastor Randy
