Community in Action July 17, 2020

So it is really the end of the day. After Facebook live VBS this morning we had rehearsal for the finale to show on Sunday. That only took about two hours. But it was worth it, be sure to tune to see the event on Sunday. P J Peterson, the skit writer, director, and today the videographer made it all happen. Thanks so much P J.

The Skit crew has done so much work this week with their daily skits and other participation in this weeks VBS we want to thank all of you for that. Also the daily crew who did the sound, camera work, coordination between live and videos throughout the week did fabulous.

The Leadership of Ms. Kim, Ms. Nancy, Ms. Sandi with Music, Mrs. Alice and Ms. Rene with crafts (Craftastic!!), they even let me participate, made it an awesome week. This amazing week happened because of so many dedicated volunteers. I think the only thing missing were the kids, but we did see some of the kids through videos they sent to us. Many of them were put on our private Facebook page for “Knights of North Castle” which you can see if you want to join the private page just email Miss Nancy. These pictures are just a small sampling of all the kids who attended this year’s “international" VBS.

I am not sure we want to do this exactly as we did this year again, but it was certainly a successful, fun-filled, and inspirational time.

We are so blessed with a staff, volunteers, and participants who didn’t let some old virus keep us away from delving into the spiritual community we find in VBS. But this is just one more highlight for our year. For the future we are talking about doing a special video pageant this coming December and maybe even a drive through Nativity.

Today most of you should have received the fitness bingo sent out by Terry Han and soon the ladies will receive an invitation to their very own virtual event. We are finding ways to keep connected and get connected.

Now is a great time to invite your family and friends to watch our Facebook Live services on Sunday at 9:30 am and, later in the afternoon if that doesn’t work for them, on Youtube.

We are not a community of faith that just sits back idly and watch the world go by. I am not only excited about what has happened with VBS, but about the creativity some of our other ministries are doing to keep us connected.

Please celebrate with me the wonder and faithfulness of our God and let us continue to find ways we can dance “even in the rain.”
