POTLUCK and BOOK DISCUSSION
READ:  "Elmer Gantry" by Sinclair Lewis

PLEASE JOIN US AT OUR “FALL FESTIVAL” LITWITS GATHERING

Zoom will meet on Tuesday, October 14, at 4:00 p.m. (Sue Fox will send out a link and a reminder the day before), and the in-person, potluck-dinner meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., at Sue Fox’s home in Pleasanton.

Do join us if you can for great food, warm fellowship, our always interesting discussion and an altogether lovely, Fall evening. Be sure to let Sue know as soon as possible that you will be attending and what tasty appetizer, main dish, side or dessert you will be bringing. Let’s have a real FALL FESTIVAL gathering!

For the October meeting, please read Sinclair Lewis’s Elmer Gantry. In this story, the reader follows the rise of a small-town boy as he navigates the world of faith. He moves from theological studies to becoming a small-town pastor, a fiery evangelist and an influential church leader. Nobel Prize winner Lewis examines the many ins and outs of church leadership in his challenging, provocative and sometimes disturbing study of a man rising to power. You won’t want to miss this discussion.

NOVEMBER book: If you want to read ahead, please
enjoy the very original and creative
North Woods, by Daniel Mason.
